Developmental Psychology in the Teaching of Civic Education

The thesis deals with the teaching of developmental psychology within the framework of Civic education. The theoretical part presents the issues of developmental psychology and didactics of social sciences, it deals with conditions for meaningful teaching of developmental psychological topics at the upper primary school, curriculum analysis, and appropriate teaching methods. In the practical part a proposal for specific teaching hours is submitted. The aim of the thesis is to create thoughtful teaching plans that develop psychological functional literacy and promote intergenerational communication skills of students. Comparison of Analytical-synthetic and Genetic methods os teaching primary reading

The diploma thesis deals with the teaching of early reading in elementary school. The thesis contains information about curriculum documents that are mandatory for primary school teaching in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the diploma thesis presents historical methods of teaching elementary reading, divided into synthetic and analytical methods, the described methods were used in the Czech Republic in the past. I have allocated separate chapters for the currently most used teaching methods of reading in the Czech Republic, these are analytical-synthetic, genetic and global methods, the global method is more detailed in the historical concept of reading teaching in the Czech Republic, as it is not central to my work. In the diploma thesis, you will also find basic strategies and features in the teaching of elementary reading and writing, which are common to all teaching methods. The aim of the diploma thesis was the comparison of analytical-synthetic and genetic methods of reading. I focused on comparing the methods according to the stages of teaching and tried to find the advantages and disadvantages of both methods. Political participation in citizenship education at the second stage of basic education

The aim of the diploma thesis entitled Political participation in citizenship education at the second stage of basic education is, based on a comparison of curricular documents, to identify the topics and outcomes that will lead to the promotion of political participation, to carry out a didactic analysis of selected political topics and to propose a suitable didactic procedure for teaching these topics in citizenship education classes at the second level of primary schools and in the lower grades of multi-year grammar schools. The presented procedure is based on the three-phase model of E-U-R learning and combines different methods, organizational forms and models of teaching. The emphasis is on working with authentic texts and the development of key competences according to the Framework Curriculum for Primary Schools. At the same time, taking into account the conditions and trends at the time of writing the diploma thesis, each lesson is designed with the possibility of moving the teaching to a distance form. The starting point for why this thesis is being written in the first place and why its objectives are set in this way is an analysis of research on political participation in selected countries. Teaching of local region (SO ORP Třeboň) with using 3A methodology

The topic of this diploma thesis is the creation of didactic case studies and its application in the 9th grade at the Sokolská primary school in Třeboň. In the introductory part, the author introduces the reader to the geographical characteristics of the local region (SO ORP Třeboňsko), also tries to outline how much space is devoted to the local region in curricular documents (framework curriculum, school curriculum and thematic school plans) and textbooks used in primary schools and will briefly introduce the 3A methodology, which has become an important starting point for the processing of this qualification work. In the second, analytical part, the author tries to create a didactic case study on the topic of the local region. This didactic case study will first be applied in 9.B. and then with partial adjustments that should lead to an increase in teaching, also in 9.A.
Issues of archaisms and historicisms in the teaching of the Czech language at the 2nd level of elementary school

The diploma thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the basic findings of lexicology. The thesis focuses on the general characteristics of lexicology - its history, general lexicological approaches, and its division. The idea of Czech vocabulary is elaborated in detail with the emphasis on vocabulary limited by time validity. It also focuses on curricular documents where vocabulary learning is embedded. The practical part is concerned with questionnaire survey, which first maps out the knowledge of concepts and understanding of archaic and historical words by pupils of middle school. It also points out how much attention is paid to teaching about archaism and historicism in the lessons of Czech language and literature.
Comparison of management between the Czech and English preschool educational systems

This Bachelor Thesis focuses on the comparison of preschool education systems between England and the Czech republic. The summary of the theoretical part characterizes both Czech and English preschool education systems, their history, organisation and education goals in preschools. The theoretical part also includes chapters dedicated to curricular documents, comparative education and current issues in preschool education. The practical part mentions qualitative research methods that were used, participant observation and in-depth interviews. Furthermore, the thesis thoroughly describes and compares two chosen preschools, one from the Czech republic and one from England.
THE IMPORTANCE OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION OF CHILDREN WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENT IN NURSERY SCHOOL

The bachelor thesis focuses on the importance of movement of preschool children with visual impairment. The aim of the work is to describe the view of pedagogical worker on the importance of healthy movement in children with visual limits in preschool education, including a comparison with the attitudes of the parents of these children. The next goal is to reveal how and to what extent the kindergarten curriculum for the visually impaired focuses on the importance of healthy exercise, including habits and attitudes. In the work are introduced the basic concepts related to the child of preschool age: visual impairment, characteristics of the child with visual impairment, various specifics of development, preschool education and movement. As part of a qualitative research strategy through semi-structured interviews, the research describes in detail three categories: the focus of physical and recreational activities, the specifics of motor development and the importance of movement in children with visual impairment. We also found similarities and differences in the opinions of teachers and parents of the examined sample and concluded that both groups agree that movement plays a significant role in the lives of children with visual impairments. Interestingly, the reasons why movement is important vary slightly. Knowledge about healthy movement is discovered in some parts of curricular documents and we have evaluated it as extensive. The result of the work is a description of these finding facts and revealing the importance of healthy movement in these children. The work can serve as feedback for possible adjustments in curricular documents in institutions for people with visual impairments, as well as help teachers and students of pedagogical faculties to get an idea of the importance of movement of children with visual impairments and to direct them to the desired movement habits and attitudes so necessary for their future lives.
Literary education in kindergarten

This bachelor thesis deals with the development of early literacy among children in kindergarten, particularly in Kindergarten Jílovská 75 in Prague 4. The theoretical part defines terminology such as literary education, reading literacy, pre-reading literacy, curricular documents for pre-school education. It describes factors influencing the development of skills previous reading. The second part of the bachelor thesis presents the result of research, which describes current environment in Kindergarten Jílovská and explores how do teachers develop early literacy and which methods of work they use. A semi-structured interview was used for this analysis. Worksheets were created on the basis of this. The verification and subsequent evaluation of these worksheets are an integral part of this thesis.
Selection and structuring of the chemistry curriculum at the secondary school level - elements of the 1st and 17th group of the periodic table of elements

The diploma thesis deals with the selection and structuring of the curriculum of the selected groups of elements in terms of inorganic chemistry, to be more specific the elements of the 1st and 17th group at the grammar school level. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the characteristics of the educational content and curriculum, the possibilities of graphical representation of the curriculum, current curricular documents and used chemistry textbooks at grammar schools. At the end of the theoretical part, the qualitative research method is discussed, namely a focus group. The practical part of the thesis contains modified schemes of the arrangement of the curriculum of the elements of the 1st and 17th group from the 1980s when a deductive approach to the content and arrangement of the chemistry curriculum was applied for the first time. To find out the current state, an analysis of RVP G and selected Czech and foreign textbooks was done. On their basis diagrams representing the content and structure of the curriculum of the elements of the 1st and 17th group were created. It proves that the deductive approach to the chemistry curriculum, which is problematic for pupils, is predominant even today. The Importance of School for Regional and Local Identity Formation - case study the Tábor Region

The educational reform, current changes in society and closer cooperation with municipalities as the usual founders of schools allow schools to focuse on less common and specific themas and work with them in a new way. In these days, the school itself is not only a place of education, it is a very important element of cultural and social life of every municipality as well. Based on these changes, the possibility of schools and individual teachers to form territorial identity of pupils and local residents comes to the fore. That is why the aim of this diploma thesis is to analyse teachers' attitudes to teaching about the territorial identity and its forming "outside" the school. For our research three small schools with composite classes in the Tábor region are chosen. Subsequently we analyse their school education programmes in the cotext of territorial identity, by the in-depth interview with teachers we analyse the intended currirulum and by the observing of appropriate lesson we analyse thematically focused realised curriculum.
